A Bit About Us

Why we do what we do

The Association of Redbridge African Caribbean Communities was formed in February 2017 by a small group of residents to help promote, inspire and support the interests of the African Caribbean community in Redbridge and surrounding East London Boroughs - Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Barking and Dagenham, Newham, Havering and Essex. The group, with numbers increasing, meet each month to discuss and develop ideas  for community engagement and improvement, as well as to support self-reliance within the community.

The Association is open to everyone interested in what we do.

We seek to promote the interests, health, well-being and cohesiveness of the African Caribbean community in this beautiful part of East London and Essex. We seek to elevate, encourage and support self-reliance within the community.

TARACC wants to spread our message of hope, resilience, self determination and compassion. We believe that small steps can make a BIG difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through seminars, workshops, community wellbeing and outreach activities our team works tirelessly to be part of the greater good.

Our agreed values are sacrosanct. They are:

  • Success

  • Listening

  • Participation

  • Respect

  • Valuing all members
